Clearance The Met Store Met Irises Clothbound Monthly Calendar 2025

An art calendar inspired by The Met collection.

For so many artists and artisans throughout history, the iris has exemplified the awesome beauty of the natural world. The flower’s common name is a tribute to Iris, the Greek goddess of the rainbow, as irises can be grown in shades of blue, purple, white, yellow, pink, and dark red, with some bearing multicolored markings. From wisdom to faith and friendship, the iris carries a number of pleasant symbolic meanings, which is why, in addition to the flower’s striking beauty, it’s a favored motif in global art history. This monthly calendar presents a selection of delightful Met artworks depicting the beloved bloom.
